LEEDS SPORTS AWARDS 2007:   Leeds Sports Federation, with the support of the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds City Council, Leeds Rugby Limited and Leeds Metropolitan University, is delighted to announce this year’s Leeds Sports Awards, to celebrate sporting performance in 2007.  The Awards will be presented at a special evening to be held at the Leeds Civic Hall on Monday 18th February 2008 in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Leeds.

LEEDS SPORTS AWARDS 2006: The Federation staged the annual Leeds Sports Awards presentation evening at Leeds Civic Hall on 12th February 2007 in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor William Hyde. The Awards were organised in co-operation with the Leeds City Council and Sport Leeds and sponsored by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

LEEDS SPORTS GRANTS: The Federation is now administering the Leeds Sports Grants programme on behalf of Leeds City Council.

SPORT IN LEEDS: The Federation of Yorkshire Sport has compiled a comprehensive list of the sports clubs and associations in Yorkshire. You can search this database for information about clubs in Leeds and the surrounding area, or find information about governing bodies and leagues. If you wish to contact one that does not give an e-mail address or website, please e-mail info@yorkshiresport.org.uk stating the club and sport you are interested in, and giving your contact details, including address (mail and e-mail) and phone number and we will try to pass on the enquiry.

- The new strategy for the City of Leeds (TAKING THE LEAD) has just been launched. The Strategy is being delivered by a new agency: SportLeeds - the Leeds Sport and Active Recreation network. SportLeeds comprises the Leeds City Council Leisure Services division, the Leeds Sports Federation, the Universities, the Education and Health sectors, the professional sports clubs in the City and the private sector sport and fitness providers. Full Membership

  • ensures that sport and recreation is represented by a strong independent voice.
  • will ensure you are kept fully informed of local and national issues that may affect your sport.
  • enables you to play an active role in the decision making process for sport in Leeds.
  • entitles the organisation to vote at general meetings of the Federation.
  • entitles members of the governing body, club or district sports council to be nominated for election to the executive committee of the Federation and other committees and specialist working groups.

Associate Membership

All organisations in Leeds involved in sport or physical recreation are automatically entitled to apply for associate membership of the Federation, which will be granted free of charge, if appropriate.

  • helps to ensure that sport and recreation is represented by a strong independent voice.
  • will ensure that you are kept informed of local and national issues that may affect your sport.
  • allows you to attend the annual regional conference for a modest fee
