The Federation represents the voluntary sports associations on the Yorkshire Sports Board. In addition the Federation works closely with the following:

• Sport England (the English Sports Council )
• Sport England - Yorkshire Region - Information regarding the work of the Sports Council regionally and nationally
• Central Council for Physical Recreation - Information regarding the national organisation for Governing Bodies of Sport
• SportscoachUK - Information about sports coach education and training
• Yorkshire Schools Sport - Details about sport in schools in the Yorkshire region
• Sports Aid Foundation
• UK Sport (the United Kingdom Sports Council) - The Sports Council with responsibility for high level performance through out the UK
• Carnegie National Sports Development Centre - The external activities department of the School of Leisure & Sports Studies at Leeds Metropolitan University
